Governance
The Irish Baptist College is governed in a way that reflects accountability, transparency, and service to the churches of the Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland (ABCI).
Management Committee
The overall governance of the Irish Baptist College rests with the Management Committee. This Committee acts on behalf of, and is accountable to, the churches of the Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland.
The Management Committee reports to:
The Association Executive Committee, and
Twice yearly at Churches Council.
Membership of the Management Committee is drawn from pastors and members of churches within the Association, ensuring that the College remains closely connected to the life and mission of the churches it serves.
Finance and Staffing Committee
The Finance and Staffing Committee is a subcommittee of the Management Committee. It is responsible for overseeing the practical, operational, and financial aspects of the College’s work, including staffing and resource management.
Board of Studies
The Board of Studies oversees academic matters within the College. It is made up of members of the Management Committee alongside individuals with experience and expertise from the wider academic community. This Board ensures the academic integrity and development of the College’s programmes.
University Validation
The BTh and BD Preparation for Ministry undergraduate courses, together with the postgraduate MTh, are validated by the University of Chester, ensuring that these programmes meet recognised academic standards.
