Ministry Partnership Scheme - Bridging Training and Service
“The ministry partnership scheme has really been a continuation of the training I received at the Irish Baptist College. It’s been a further opportunity for me to develop in the work as I continue to aspire to serve the Lord in pastoral ministry”
Reuben Russell
The Ministry Partnership Scheme (MPS) provides a clear pathway from theological training to active gospel ministry. Each year, students at the Irish Baptist College complete courses in ministry and mission, earning College Diplomas and University Degrees. Our faculty are especially encouraged by the achievements of our Preparation for Ministry students and are confident that, with God’s guidance, they will make a lasting contribution to the work of the gospel.
While studying, students experience God’s provision both spiritually and practically. Yet many graduates face a real challenge: finding opportunities to serve in Christian ministry. Churches may hesitate to employ someone with limited experience, and assistantship roles are often scarce due to financial constraints. The Ministry Partnership Scheme exists to bridge this gap.
How the Scheme Supports Graduates
The MPS gives graduates a first step into ministry by providing financial support to churches and missionary organisations to appoint a graduate as an Assistant Pastor or Apprentice Missionary for a set period.
This experience equips graduates to serve more confidently in pastoral or missionary roles while also benefiting the churches and communities they serve. The scheme not only strengthens new ministries but also demonstrates the value and effectiveness of training at the Irish Baptist College. Our goal is to grow this fund with the support of churches, individuals, and Trusts.
